The Search for the Model of the Villa Limona

NB: The instructions are to 'flow like water from the train station to the sea',
but only go as far as the coast road, or you'll have a long walk back up!

With the help of her family, Top Fan and amateur detective Rhianna found a model of the Villa of Pollius Felix in Sorrento! Here's how she did it!

Salve ( bongiorno ) Caroline

I did it, I got the picture of "Villa Limona" for you.

Here's how we got the picture:

It was nearly our bedtime and we had looked at the two museums in Sorrento the day before but the model wasn't there. We asked the man at the campsite where we were staying if he knew where the George Vallet museum was and he said "It's in Piano di Sorrento. If you get out at the station and flow like water down to the sea you'll find it!"

We had already climbed Vesuvius that day (it wasn't scary but a bit windy) and got some black shiny volcanic rock for myself and Dad's birthday the next day AND we had been to Herculaneum which was cool and Rowan (my brother ) had had two slices of margherita pizza, but even though we were tired we were determined to find the model.

We arrived at the station 20 mins before the museum was due to close, and we flowed like water down to the sea and there it was. But it was closed! A light was on downstairs so we guessed there was someone still in. We knocked and knocked, but no-one answered.

We were just about to give up when someone put their head out of the window upstairs to shut the shutters and we called to them to let us in for two minutes (per favore per favore!!). The lady came down and let us in and then another lady showed us the way to the model of "Villa Pollio Felice". They were very smiley and helpful.

So when you go to find it flow like water from the train station to the sea![But only as far as the coast road, or you'll have a long walk back up!]

Love Rhianna.

Rhianna's dad writes:
Basically you come out of the Piano de Sorrento station, turn right and right again to go under the train track and then walk down a longish road towards the sea front. Eventually you see another road off on the left going down to the sea front; go down here and the museum is the large house overlooking the sea. The model is up on the first floor; very easy to find. It was a real adventure finding it as you can see from Rhianna's letter and it is actually well worth seeing. We didn't have a chance to look at the rest of the museum - it was closed after all! - but what little we saw looked good. And it is right off the tourist trail.
